    Well guys, Vodafone finally issued the upgrade to 4.0.4 and my phone is working with no probs whatsoever. Android OS is now running at 4% - 6% and the battery drain problem has been solved... had it going for over 6 hours now and hardly lost any charge in the battery. Many thanks for all your help and advice
