    New Icon?

Hi At 66 years old I am really not ready for this 'smartphone' think - however - I shall carry on. After one week, Samsung have had me do a 'factory reset' on my S2 to clear a problem connecting it to Samsung Dive.

Since the re-set, I have now got an icon on the top home screen bar, between bluetooth and the wi-fi icon. This is a capital letter "N" and has a little bit of blue at the bottom of the left hand upright! Does anyone know what this is please? I am paranoid about running up huge bills with this phone, and didn't have this icon before I did the re-set. Is it costing me money??

The 'N' means that you've enabled the Near Field Communication (NFC) facility on your phone.
Go to Settings >Wireless and networks > where you will find the NFC heading.
Untick if you do not want it on.
