How to stop apps downloading to home screen ?

Everytime I download an app it automatically loads itself to my home screen I know I can drag them into the bin to remove them from there but is there a way to stop them loading there in the first place ? I can't find anything anywhere to untick ?

Hi when you go to play store for your apps, hit your left soft key for play store settings. There you should see the add widgets to home screen box I'm guessing yours is ticked?

Thanks wann.......I'm sure I have tried that before but obviously missed what I was looking for as I have now noticed the add app to homescreen was ticked !
