Downloaded and installed this several times and had to uninstall it everytime because when I try to launch it I get a blank screen and get a message saying it has to be force closed. Anyone else had this problem...or not?

Have used it on S2, Note and current S3 with no problems. Sounds like you have a software conflict.
Probably needs a Factory reset to clear them, but try going to Settings > Applications (manager) > All and find Met Office and Clear Data before restarting.
I am using this app on the S3, it's a very good app which I have had no issues with. Very accurate too.
