Officially more than 50 percent of all smartphones in the US are using Android, while 32 percent are on iOS. So Google’s mobile operating system does not appear to be in need of saving.

I read that post and disagree. Linux is not about one size fits all, it's how you want it to beAlso that's one of the reasons it's on lower end phones.
Now when the source code gets released for phone drivers etc; and more distributions start being made (ie: Pick your flavour, add the need drivers, flash) then will see what Android can really do
Also OTA minor updates would be good too![]()

SGS TripleEye (White) Firmware: (JB 4.1.2) ELLA - Rooted
I want to update my android from 2.1 to 2.3, but I want to know if the same roms for GT-i9000 will work on my GT-i9000T?
Some sources say yes, other say no.
Please help!
P.S.(I'm writing here cause it won't let me post a new thread)
If you unlock your phone to any network, then yes, you can install i9000 firmware.
But an update to 2.3.3 is available for the i9000T here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?p...m=GT-I9100&r=1
If it does not open on I9000/9000T page put i9000t in the search box
