Please can someone explain storage.
Very occasionally when downloading Apps I get a message saying it can't be downloaded because of a shortage of space.
In my Galaxy S GT-I9000, according to STORAGE in SETTINGS I have 1.85Gb of "Internal Storage" but only 412MB is in use. Surely that means I have something like 1.7GB of free space on my phone at least?
I also have 5.64GB of "USB Storage" with only 705MB available.
I also have 7.4GB "SD Card" of which 3.75GB is available.
I know the SD Card is my 8GB Smardmedia card so I understand that but why is the memory in the phone split between "Internal Storage" and "USB Storage"?
When I go into SETTINGS / APPS and try to "MOVE TO PHONE" I am told there is no space but there is 1.7GB free on the "Internal Storage" so why can I not use that available space?
I would appreciate an explanation. Thanks
