Joined Contact Display Conflict

Thanks for the detailed answer. I only have emails on google. I double checked none of my fone contacts have been sync'd onto google. I have also checked that said conflict is both with contacts which have been joined with google account and ones who do not have a google contact joined.

Try going to the contact Ur having multiple names for. Go to options and pick "Mark as default" and choose the name u would like to collectively call it... Have a try hope that helps!

Good call, I was clicking on the pic of the chainlink and trying from that screen.

Edit: Although, at least for me, when you choose to Mark as default it does not offer Whatsapp as an option. Voxer was fine.
