When in the app draw (Where all the apps are), if you press Menu, are you given the option 'hide'?

If not then there are few apps out there which will allow you to put a pin on certain apps.

Once you've hidden the apps they'll still be there but you cannot see them....to see them again just do exactly the same as the first time....click on hide apps and then uncheck it.

If you also go Menu > Settings > Applications > you should be able to also click on an app and disable it...this will stop it running in the background....at least the option is there on ICS for the S3

Edit: Once you hide an application another option appears to 'show hidden applications' (See post #7 for screen capture).

Hi, I think I did not see "Hide Applications" in the Menu, but I have ICS 4.0.3 version. Why that option is missing in my SGS2?

There could be 15 different versions of ICS as it depends on region, version, carrier etc. I'll post a pic of what I have:

PrivateMe is great, I won't worry when I leave my phone alone, even it is unlocked. It can hide apps from your launcher, recent apps list, app management in system settings and any other app trace on your phone system. I will definitely recommend you to backup any important data before hiding apps because this app resets the hidden app completely. I know this might not be the best way to hide apps but this is the best that I could find for non-rooted Android phones. Apart from this limitation, it provides a hidden and safe place for the hidden apps. It actually hides any apps as well as disguises itself as a calc which actually works to calculate..! It'll keep working as a calculator unless you insert your pin and press the = button. Too great. Do check it out as it doesn’t require any root privileges and completely free to use You can grab it from google play
