How do I turn off incognito mode?

I cannot figure out how to get my phone out of incognito mode. The only thing I found online is a You Tube video in which a guy mistakenly believes that simply setting a web homepage turns off incognito (because when you do so you no longer see the page saying you are incognito). It's so weird...if I am logged into my g-mail account on my laptop, all of the internet searches that I do on the laptop will later show up in my search history on my phone but the searches that I do on my phone are never saved! It's bizarre. I can't find anything on this in the manual either.

    2 things you can try.
1 - When browser is open hit menu >Settings >Advanced Scroll to bottom and choose "Reset to Default"
2 - On Google home page hit "Settings" (Bottom of page) and click "Save search history"
