    Question Can't update Android

Okay. I'll see if this posts. I am using Android 2.1 and AT&T told me I could "easily" upgrade to Android 4 using KEIS. I downloaded the program, updated to Version 2.3.2.12074_13. Installed okay. I connected and got the message "device not supported by KEIS 2." Any suggestions?

I went through this with both our phones - SGS2 and SGS2 LTE. I tried with 3 different cables and 2-3 different computers (can't recall whether I tried on computer #3). The SGS2 suddenly decided to work after a few tries on both computers, but the LTE took a ton of fiddling. There are a lot of suggestions out there for this problem but in the end it just suddenly connected out of the blue with no obvious reasoning. In the hours I spent trying, I reinstalled KIES and tried it both with and without the update. I tried connecting the phone during installation or afterwards, and I tried accessing the phone through Explorer at the same time as trying to connect with Kies. I have read about people having success with any of these tactics, but for me it was just persistence.

Hope you get it after a few tries... good luck!

Welcome to the club - you are not alone in finding Kies useless.
Most people give up and update their firmware with a much better piece of software called Odin.

However, let's try and get your Kies to work.
First of all which computer OS are you using?
    Windows (which version), Mac?

One of the problems is that Kies will not jump updates.
As you are on a very early Android version, that may be why it can't give you the next update.

To speed things up, can you dial *#1234# in your phone and report back your result?
    This is your current firmware.
