Question Google Apps Framework error message

My GalaxyS is about 18 months old and has just started displaying an error message saying that the 'Google App Framework has detected an error' and I have to force quit to stop the message and the buzzing notification. I have tried updating the software which is what the phone provider said should fix it but to no avail. The phone company are now telling me that it is moisture damage causing the error and it will be £100 to fix! I know the phone has not got wet so help!
