    broken galaxy s

Hello i have an 18 month old galaxy s that on pushing the power button plays the start up music then goes to the pulsing S screen then wont go past that pulsing S screen. The last time i started it there was very low battery power and i am wondering if it has gone into some sort of safe mode. Thanks for any replies or ideas

If you can't get passed the flash screen then it looks like you may have to flash the firmware again using Odin.

For now can you get into recovery mode and carry out a factory reset?

You will lose your apps, contacts, settings etc; how the phone was when it left the factory except for system software...any updates to firmware should remain.

To be honest you can't use your phone anyway so technically you will lose nothing.

Edit: Once in recovery mode select factory reset.

Flashing firmware using Odin will also wipe your phone. If you have never flashed firmware then try the factory reset first, it's far easier then flashing a phone.

There was a reason why I said to Factory reset then try flashing firmware.

If the Factory reset doesn't work then you WILL HAVE TO flash frimware using Odin.
