my phone will not switch off. It either comes back on or shows battery with yellow triangle with thermometer. help . thanks

Could be a number of things - software or hardware.
It is overheating - hence the warning and thermometer icon.

Look at the usb port and see if there is any debris or water in there.
Do the pins look straight?

I had a faulty battery go like this. If USB port is clean and undamaged try another battery in it.
