    Signal.

    Hi,
Is anyone else having poor signal issues..
I've just restored to ALF2 firmware to remedy the problem, i've been using omega rom v12 which is BLG9 and although the rom itself is fantastic and I had my phone exactly how I wanted it with the excellent kitchen app, I was suffering from dropped calls, no signal bars at all in the status bar and I was also unable to send or recieve any MMS.
The restore has solved the problems.. (signal could be better but is acceptable) and my mms is working again.. I tried all of the modems available in the kitchen app but all had the same problem.
I've read many articles about poor signal.. and it seems to be an hardware problem from what I can gather..surely this beast of a phone cant be a dud !!

I reckon it's software related. I'm using stock firmware and have no issues that you had experienced.
Doesn't your message also confirm that, as you report that a change to the firmware resolved your problem?
The other factor is of course the network. Have you tried changing sim cards?

Yes and no.. it resolved the problem up to a point where I have 1 maybe 2 bars of signal.. not what you expect really. It is now back on the software it came with as i made a nandroid when I rooted.
It's a sim free handset and i've tried an O2 sim an Orange sim and a 3sim and the signal is always very poor.
If I put the sim in my S2......bang.... full signal..

I'm really not alone... google S3 poor signal... it's shocking.
I don't think I could return it.. it's not really faulty..
I think some screen shots would be useful.. showing the signal strenght.. lets see whats going on..

    Here's the programme and method:

Here's the firmware - can't find the one referred to above, so have suggested the latest Jelly Bean as working well on my phone, and review here:
