Again thanks for the responses but looks like deleting the APN is the definitive solution.
Short of that, I might just edit the APN name and see if that works.
I won't bother tampering with Apps and how they synch etc as I dont want to affect the wifi side.
Oh...I didn't buy mine. It's a 1 year old phone I inherited from someone else and have access to wifi like 90% of the time so there is no need to pay for mobile data?
And if it is not a design flaw then what is the point of being given the option to disable mobile data (at the power button) but then it doesnt actually do the job?
No one has been able to explain why Samsung would do this? Or is this common to all smartphones?
Could it even be a phone fault to claim against the phone warranty?
Or being cynical, is there a conspiracy between the samsung and the network carrier to generate extra income? How much money are they making from people who are not on data plans and believe they have set the phone up correctly?
