    Extended Battery Not Charging

I just got the Samsung 2000 mAh extended battery for my AT&T GS2, but when I went to charge it, the phone shut off instantly, and the power-off charging icon flashes on the screen for a split second every few seconds. It isn't charging during that time, and when I unplug the charger the phone automatically turns on. I'm using the original Samsung charger. What can I do?

Try taking the battery out for 10 minutes then put back in and plug in charger...see what happens?

There's also the possibility that it's faulty.

Ugh... Stupid. That's why I got the official Samsung one instead of a bigger one, so it wouldn't be faulty.

Silly question perhaps, but is the i777 battery the same spec as the S2.
What happens when you put in the original battery? All ok?

OK, Perhaps stupid question number 2 (as tend to agree with faulty battery theory, but surprised by that)
Is there a film over the contacts on battery?
Seem to remember, my extended battery came shrink wrapped.

I checked that green, no film over the contact points. Annoyingly though, the bar code sticker is slapped over the instructions on the box so I don't know if there's anything silly I need to know on there.

Have you checked Samsung's website for any FAQs about it?
