    Merge & Sync failing

Not entirely sure if this is a 4.0.4 issue but I can't now seem to Sync my contacts to GMail as I was a few weeks ago.

I use my GMail account to back up my Contacts from the phone in case of a problem and have been doing so since I got the phone. I notice that after the latest update the 'Sync' option has gone from the menu and only 'Merge' remains. When I select this I get the message "No phone account contacts to merge with Google account", not sure what this means. I used to select merge and any changes I'd made in my contacts were imeadiately changed on my GMail contacts. I've discovered that there's now an 'Accounts and Sync' menu in the settings but this doesn't seem to do anything (gives no error message).

I've tried on WiFi and 3G, still get the same message.

Any help on this would be much appreciated

In accounts & sync click on your gmail account. This should open a page of different items you can sync with your gmail. Just tick the ones you want to sync.

Problems with upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4

I've just upgraded from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 and am having problems with bluetooth.
I can't transfer my phonebook from the phone to the car. so still have to use the phone to dial numbers in my phonebook.

I get messages saying bluetooth share has stopped and TS launcher has stopped. Samsung say to factory reset my phone. I have tried to backup using kies but now I get an error on my phone and the backup stops.

I don't want to lose all my data doing the reset. Please can anyone help?

    Using an unlocked SGS2 (XEU)

    Thanks in anticipation!!

You should have backed up before you did the upgrade. If you used Kies to upgrade it will have made a backup for you automatically, if not you've lost it because you HAVE to do a factory reset to clear the conflicts.....

No, not at all. I'm a heavy user and have 30% remaining after 24 hours. I can easily get a normal day without charging.

I bought a Virgin phone (with gingerbread firmware) unlocked it and then upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich however, now my phone is locked again. It seems that somethings' not right as all the forums I've read say that an upgrade shouldn't effect the SIM lock. any ideas or help is appreciated.

The lock status is contained in the efs file. If you flashed a virgin efs file you will have relocked it. If the firmware is open (xeu) then the lock should still be off.

I upgraded a couple of weeks ago & since then I've had the following problems with my phone;-

    1) Battery life reduced to as little as a couple of hours on standby.
    2) Phone often seems hot.
    3) Phone switches itself off for no apparent reason.
    4) Phone loses wi-fi & internet connections.
    5) 20+ Apps seem to be running in the background all the time. Even when I force close apps, there appears to be items still running again within seconds!

Will I have to do a factory reset to stabilize the phone? If so, how do I save things like kindle e-books etc? ALL HELP APPRECIATED!!!

Yes, as always, after upgrading software do a factory reset. To do a proper and full backup look at using something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...VyLmNsaWVudCJd. t's a 2 part programme, 1 part on PC and 1 part on phone.....
