Today I flashed LPT from sammobile.com onto Mrs stonkr's SII and used LQ5 CF-Root as Chainfire is away until mid August so there's currently no LPT CF-Root. Works perfectly although I see not all of the 4.0.4 features on my SGSIII are in the LPT firmware.

I also used UOT Kitchen for the first time as I like the circular battery mod and was finding it increasingly difficult to find one to download. I thought I'd post the procedure here as it took a few attempts to get it right. I confirm UOT works with ICS but I understand only for the battery mod.

    1. Install your firmware and root of choice onto your phone.
    2. Using your favourite file manager that has root access, copy framework-res.apk from /system/framework and SystemUI.apk from /system/app to somewhere accessible, like the root of your sdcard, then move those files to your computer.
    3. Start the UOT Kitchen website.
    4. In the 'Battery' tab choose which battery mod you want, I went for one in the 'SCB with %' list.
    5. In the 'File upload' tab, under 'Select flashable zip scripting' select 'Type EMMC' in the 'update-binary' drop-down box. The update zip will NOT work otherwise.
    6. Select the 'upload system files' radio button and upload your framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files.
    7. In the 'summary' tab select 'Submit work to kitchen'. Go to the collection screen using the link. Wait for your mod to be cooked...
    8. Copy the zip file to somewhere on your phone, you can rename it to something more recognisable.
    9. Boot into recovery and install the zip.

    That's it. Job done.

EDIT: Managed to put it in safe mode when putting it back in it's Casemate Tough. A reboot didn't work. Pulling the battery for a minute did. I understand you activate safe mode by pressing the menu button when booting. Didn't even know it had a safe mode.

I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

I do hope Chainfire will produce a CF-Root for I9100XWLPT(4.0.4). I updated to 4.0.4 with KIES and lost CF-Root from 4.0.3. Presumably I will be able to re-root with the CF-Root when Chainfire makes it. I lost Titanium PRO and SuperSU.
