    Your phone history

Saw someone's signature on XDA earlier with a history of their phones, so decided to get onto Google and see if I could find all the ones I remember having since the late 90s.

I think this is all of them...

Still have 5 (I still love that tiny phone!), 8 and obviously 12. Anybody recognise them all?

    What did you have?

Definitely! I thought the pattern was going to go big-small-big, but I forgot about the Nokias in the middle

Ah. The Nokia Relapse model range. Those were the days...

    My phones...
Motorola StarTAC - bought for £80 from Vodafone on PAYG
Samsung SGH-T100 - bought from a friend for £10, Virgin PAYG
Motorola V3 - I think bought from Virgin store on their PAYG
Motorola V6 - Bought on eBay from Hong Kong. Better than the V3 but not as nice.
LG Shine - Bad buy from one of those online phone retailer places on 18 month Virgin contract. Replace the 'n' for a 't'. Broke at 14 months, went back to V6.
LG Cookie - 18 month £10 contract on Virgin. A very basic phone. Broke at 14 months. Went back to V6.
Galaxy S - Into the modern world on a 2-year contract with Virgin. Finally a phone worth the outlay.
Galaxy S3 - Bought outright from Amazon. Nice £10 sim-only from Virgin. Now I decide when I change my phone. (Savings account now replenished thanks to the Olympics.)

I still have the Motorolas and T100. The S1 went off to Envirofone (then came back) then went off to Mazuma. The two LG phones both broke after 14 months of careful use. I will NEVER consider another LG phone. The V3 and V6 are still kept charged and still have PAYG sims in them.

The StarTAC had no way to get the contact number when creating a text, you had to memorise it or write it down.

I like clamshell phones. I wonder if, with flexible screens, the Galaxy SVIII will be a clamshell so it fits in your pocket easily but opens out to a 5" screen size.

I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

That's quite funny, my cousin had a Shine, followed by a Cookie, which both had very short lifespans. The Shine ended up being bodged together with bits of another dead Shine and carried on for another couple of months.

The Viewty and Viewty Smart I had were quite good on the whole. The first Viewty lasted a couple of weeks, when in my pocket it hit the corner of a desk with the screen facing outwards. Tried my luck sending it in for a warranty repair and got a brand new one back which lasted me fine until I got bored of it.

    Motorola Startac.

Sanyo SCP-4000. I had this phone from 1999-2008. Served me long and well.

Finally upgraded to an LG Keybo.

    Joined the world of Crackberry.

The BB served me for about a year, before succumbing to Android and the Galaxy Nexus.
