easiest way is to search for 'lag fix' in Market/AppBrain and run that.

edit: Thanks aciduzzo, that app worked fine, went from 900 to 2170, It does feel allot smoother. Hopefully no more long pauses when the phones busy.

Yeah it can be dangerous if you're unsure what you're doing or if you overclock too much.
What have you got your CPU set at? I'm sure I saw on one of my settings that its actually only running at 800mhz and not the stated 1Ghz! So might have to overclock it to get the maximum.

I've rooted my SGS with One Click Lag Fix and all works fine but how about overclocking? Acc Quadrant the cpu is running at 800Mhz. How can you change the CPU freq?
