Why are long texts now being sent as MMS?

Hi,

On my S2 I could send a long text just as an SMS, now after a certain amount of characters it sends as MMS, on my bill it shows as 'long text'.
Any idea why this is and how I can change it please?

Have you changed networks as this may be a network setting.
You can get round it by installing another message client like Handcent, or GoSMS from the Play Store.

There are some settings in the MMS messaging menu under 'creation mode' - select creation mode 'Restricted', 'Warning' or 'Free'.

Restricted was selected on mine, I've tried the other but when trying to forward a long text it shows 'converting to Multimedia message' on the screen

I think most custom roms stop this behaviour.

Anything over 3 SMS in length will get converted to MMS.

Not being funny but you either reset or you don't, there's no such thing as resetting a little. Resetting will not fix the problem either, it's a network issue or settings issue.

I suspect a typo. They maybe meant 'rest a little' and not send so many long texts.
