ics sandwich unlock screen title

on the top of the screen when touch and swipe unlocking there is a msg saying 'swipe screen to unlock' always there any way of getting rid of it?

also how do you go back to gingerbread, considering it.

Supposedly it disappears after a while, though mine hasn't. You need to edit framework-res.apk to remove the text. Decompile it, open up resources.arsc and you'll find the offending text.

There's a far simpler way.

Menu > Settings > Security & Lock Screen > Lock Screen Options > untick 'Help Text'.

As for going back GB am sure there are threads regarding this on the SGS2 Android Development part of the forum.

I don't have a 'Security & Lock Screen' menu, just 'Security' In there i can only change the type of screen lock

I think that option is only on ICS 4.04
