I just stop the music and then just press the back button. If I get to the homescreen and the music app is still in the notification bar then I go back in, stop the music again and keep pressing back.

Sometimes the app will sit in Task Manager for a few minutes incase you go back to it.

Thanks for your response..When you say you just stop the music,do you mean press the pause button or is there a stop button?

I meant the pause button, if all else fails and it won't shutdown then just long press the home button and click Task Manager then 'End' the music player.

Usually Pausing and pressing back works though.
