It keeps showing in the notification bar which is annoying can this be deleted some how???

The first update (LG6) removes the local search function. I'm sure the Google search widget is still there, it just only searches Google (not contacts and stuff on the phone). However, the second update (LG8) restores the search function.

I'm on LG8 and I definitely have both search bars and the local search working.

If you go into Settings > Sync you can alter your samsung account.

An "OTA update via Kies"

Yes it does sound daft doesn't it.

Not entirely wrong though. I got the update message OTA, but as I had to drop the phone in the cradle to do an Outlook update via Kies I said No to the OTA and got it via Kies instead.
