Kies not recognising my galaxy s ii at software upgrade time

    I have a BIG problem.

I wanted to upgrade to Android v. 4.0.4 today using Kies and Odin with my phone in receive mode to core memory. I had downloaded the latest 600 mb upgrade file and loaded it in to Odin awaiting Kies to set up the download connection which never came.

I am really stuck now as my phone will not revert to the original position, nor can i download the new one.

    HELP PLEASE,,, ANYBODY ???

    Hello.

Are you trying to update using Odin or Kies, you can't use both. There's also no receive mode on your phone, only Recovery and Download mode.

If you downloaded firmware from the internet and have the files on your PC then you have to use Odin. Your post really doesn't make any sense.

Can you get into download/odin mode? See pic below

Also let us know what model phone you have (ie GT-i9100p/m/g etc)
    What country you are in?
Whether your phone is network locked and if so which network?

Plus you posted in the SGS 1 forum not the SGS 2 forum.

    My head hurts... LOL!
Read up about Odin before blindly ploughing ahead. If you don't know what your doing, stay with Kies. Just power phone as normal and connect to PC with data cable and open Kies. However, as MOST regions don't get 4.04 yet, Kies is unlikely to update you so you need the Odin route.....
