Voice audio for incoming text messages

I have NEVER had this problem & have had my phone since october, but today all of a sudden out of the blue while my phone was on vibrate it says "message from Fred". Normally, my phone just vibrates. Why is this? Even though I keep my text alerts ON, they never have had any type of audio when my phone is on vibrate. I couldnt find an option in the menu to cut this supposed feature off. Please help
