Contacts in Android 4.0.3

I have SGS2 Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) updated via kies.

In the contacts app, Im sure there used to be a way where by if you were syncing your facebook account, status updates and media would appear in the contact (In Contacts). This doesnt appear to be the case anymore.

Can anyone tell me if this is still possible?

There is. You need to select a contact that has the Facebook symbol (or any other social media site symbol), once you clicked on the contact you'll see 'Updates' at the top. the picture below is from my details in my contacts...so it's hooked up to my G+ account.

Hmm I dont have the same as you. I clicked on one contact which has facebook, G+ and skype, however I dont see that updates screen as in your screenshot. Is there a setting thats wrong? Do you have SGS2 with android 4.0.3?

I have the SGS 3 running 4.0.4, thought it may have been similar. It may have soemthing to do with how the accounts were setup, you may have to install the apps like FB for android etc. Still, Google+ is automatically on the device as a stock app so the G+ contacts should still have the activity there.

If I come across something I'll post back but I'm back at work now

Facebook and Google don't talk to each other very well. There are apps on Play to assist in syncing photos and calendar events with facebook.

Yup found out only contacts with Google Plus accounts are showing status updates in contacts. This really sucks , because this functionality was there in Gingerbread. Why on earth did it get removed?

It wasn't removed. Facebook changed it..... You need to moan at them
Seach for an app on play called "facebook contact sync", it might help....
