Contacts/SMS sync problem

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has come up before, I didn't know where else to turn!! I have a new Galaxy S2 with Ice Cream Sarnie.

I have joined my contacts in my Galaxy S2 to Friendcaster (the Facebook app I use), when I receive sms messages though the images don't come through as they do in my 'contacts'. I've tried using different Facebook apps, joining the contacts in a different order, deleting my synced accounts and adding them again... all sorts! I was about to give up and just forget it but a friend text me the other day on a number I hadn't updated on my sim card. So I updated her exisiting contact details with the new mobile number and suddenly her Facebook photo appears in my messages!! Then someone else texts me with a new number so I update them too but their photo doesn't appear! Is there something i'm not doing right or a special app I should be using? I'm getting really annoyed with it now!

Any help would be brilliant - thank you so much in advance!!

Do you have all your contacts on your phone or SIM card? They need to be on the phone for the sync to work correctly. Also, make sure in settings that you don't show SIM contacts as 2 contacts with the same name that are not joined will confuse things.

I copied all of the contacts from my sim to my phone before I started and then set it to view phone contacts not sim contacts...

You must be blighted by the "Facebook bug" then. There are known conflicts (disagreements) between facebook and Google. You could try a 3rd party app such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...GFjdHNzeW5jIl0.

That's the app i'm using (as well as Friendcaster for actual Facebook use). I have that app just to sync the contacts on my FB to my phone contacts but still no joy! Thanks for the help though

OK, I missed that, I thought you were using the phone. You have an option in contacts to get friends and sync to Facebook - Maybe that way will work for you?

Everything is synced in my contacts, the images appear next to the contacts with all of the information etc. they just don't appear in my sms inbox
