Ice Cream Sandwich Help...

Hi,

I am pretty sure I signed up to this ages ago, but cant remember my details - its been THAT long since I've used the site, so had to register again hehe)....
ANYWAY...

I have my Galaxy S2 on OS Version: 2.3.3 and is on Gingerbread (how the phone came).
But I am wanting to change it to Ice Cream Sandwich.
I have read about it, and it seems like its much better and faster etc...

But I am not that phone savy, so I am not entirely sure how to go about changing it. Also I'm sure not I can be bothered if it means I lose all my settings (wallpaper, pics, apps, layout etc...)...

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Also, is there an app or anything to access this site easily from your phone?

Yes there is an app for this site or there was. Not to sure now.

If you want to update, it mite be a good idea to sync your data with google. Should be an option in settings somewhere to backup your apps and data.

I was able to upgrade an S2 OTA (Over The Air (Also in settings)) to ICS via WiFi (Took 3 extra GB updates, then ICS as phone never got updated till I done it). Don't think any settings got changed.
Then there is kies. I've never tried kies to update (Maybe once, I did), but I think it's just connect via USB then update.

Then you've got odin/Heimdall to flash the firmware manually. This will be best to read up about.

It's usually a good idea to do a factory reset after you've done an update, which will delete apps, data and contacts. To avoid problems, but this will be down to you, and there are a few good ways to back things up now
