I've been trying for many days to stop the voice saying I have a new email. Particularly troublesome during the night...

I've checked the parameters but can't seem to find the correct one.

Usually caused by having driving mode turned on but could also be talkback option in Accessibility settings.....

Remember seing the "driving mode" but don't remember where...!!! The accessibilty settings, talkback was disable.

You can add it as a widget to your homescreen, otherwise go to Settings >Applications "Running" and go into "Voice Control" (should be 2 of them). Click on STOP for each of the applications. One of them will come back with "Driving Mode OFF". Also, one of them will restart again immediately as this is the voice control for text to speech which is a required system app so cannot be stopped permanently without rooting etc.....

Found it RichH. After hearing that voice again at 4 AM way from the bedroom, on getting up I finaly found another "drive mode" when you drag down the screen and at the top you have the strip with wifi, gps, etc..I uncliked the drive. I've just checked yours and it's unclicked.

Hopefully I will get better handling this phone. Thank you for your help!
