Kies not recognising Samung Galaxy II

This code means that the system has not had a chance to configure the device. To resolve the problem, follow the instructions in the Device Status box. In addition, you may be able to resolve this issue by removing the device in Device Manager, and then running the Add New Hardware wizard from Control Panel.

You've given Kies a chance - now do what most of us do and use something else.
What are you trying to do?

Two things:

1/ Upload files

2/ Sync Outlook 2003 with Samsung Galaxy II

Even the phone is not shown in "my computer"

When installing the drivers did you have USB debugging set on your phone - Settings > Developer options?
Syncing Outlook 2003 may be ok with Kies. I know later versions of Outlook have problems.
Can you sync with GMail and then GMail sync with your phone?
You can copy files to your computer wirelessly by Kies Air or I prefer Airdroid,
or sync your computer and PC wirelessly using Android Sync Manager from the Play Store.

Kies is so buggy! I was on the phone with people from samsung because I couldn't connect and THEY even suggested me to use an alternative because of its inconsistency.

IF Kies works it works really well, if, however, it doesn't you will faff for ever trying.... ;(

All sorted now. MyPhoneExplorer sorted it rather than messing about with Kies.
