    Skype

Maybe some of you can give me hints with Skype. When I first installed it, it worked and I made a video call to a contact. It didn't work perfectly but at least the audio was good. I tried to use it again and nothing worked. I uninstalled the program 3 times and re-installed again but...nothing.

If I make an audio call, it starts but no noise and it doesn't make the call.

Down below the window there's a mic etc...none react if I click on them.

Have some of you used any other VoiP programs.

I use Skype to talk to my Father and have had no problems. The one problem I initially had was that I couldn't hear him, this was a problem with his settings though.

I am unable to make the sound test and make calls. I made a call with Skype on my PC to my mobile and the call came through perfectly. What is weird is that it worked on my first installation and after that...nothing!

I had issues with Skype last week due to the person I was calling having bad reception. Make sure both you and your caller have a 3g or wifi connection with fast internet (1mbs +)

I'm on wifi and have a fast cable connection. It worked the first time I installed the program, made a video call which worked "correctly" but it stopped working the next time.
It seems to be a problem with the sound and a connection problem. The Sound Test doesn't work. Frustrating!!!

I like Viber, but does require your recipients to have it installed also.

Yes, I did look at Viber, and like you said all your friends need Viber.

Found that many S3 owners have the same problem. Work for a while and then it stops.

It's frustrating because here in Canada we have the highest rates in the world for our mobile. And no politician cares to change this!

It's also frustrating that Google voice isn't available in Canada. Well! It's a bad day!

Reading round there is a very mixed message due to the S3 variants.
Generally, though, the reason appears to be that Skype hasn't certified the S3.
If your phone worked and then stopped you could try a reinstall, BUT after a factory reset and clear cache - in other words a new clean install.
Could be you have the same problems, but if important, may be worth a try .......... or just wait for Skype to play catch-up.
    Good luck
