Microphone- dodgy when recording video and none in speakerphone mode

Hi,

My wife's SGSII (GT-I9100T) is not recording proper sound in video mode (scratching/static noises from the top mic with other input from the bottom mic) and in speakerphone the mic doesn't seem to be working (other end can't hear you). The speaker itself works fine, so does normal handset mode.

I believe that both video and speakerphone use the top mounted mic (next to the headphone jack), speakerphone using it exclusively- hence no sound transmitted.

This phone has been immersed, I've 'rescued' it although I had to sacrifice a shorting chip- power chip for the USB OTG (see my other thread here), although I don't believe this is related.

It's possible the immersion has damaged the mic. unit too, if so where can I buy one at reasonable price? I'm located in Australia so they'll have to ship out to Aust at a reasonable rate. From the SGSII service manual The unit I'd need seems to be part "QAR01 MODULE-RCV+MOT+MIC+E/JACK FPCB(GT_I9100) GH59-10935A"

A search for GH59-10935A on ebay.com.au returned nothing, there are a few odd shops elsewhere. Any ideas, and anywhere good to order parts from? Note again it's a GT-I9100T although I suspect it will make no difference for this component area.

Before I got to the "Immersion" bit I was gonna suggest water or impact damage.... If a trawl of Ebay (inc ebay.com) does nothing, you could try amazon......
