Screen does not always register my touch!

    Hi,

I have this really annoying problem, where my SGS2 isn't always registering my touch. It might take 2-3 presses to start up an application. I have searched and there seems to be some general touch issues but I can't tell if this is something that can be fixed by software or not?

For example, running MultiTouch Tester, I can touch the screen really fast 10 different places (this is important I think), and the phone will only detect 7/10 presses on avg. I don't recall having so many touch problems before ICS? Anyways, am I the only one with this issue? If not, is there a fix?

Sometimes happens to me too but I put it down to my screen protector or I haven't touched quite properly.

When you say before ICS, did you update your phone to ICS? If so you may need to factory reset. F.Resetting will mean you lose contacts, settings, Apps and their saved data etc.

I have this on my unrooted SG2 running ICS, Android 4.0.3, I just assumed it was greasy fingers, but it's flipping annoying, I'm kind of comforted that it's not just me being picky/clumsy

I've had to remove my pattern security as most times the phone wouldn't recognise my starting touch so it failed approximately 3 times before I could get the right pattern in. It's not quite so bad with a numerical password, but still not great

Yes I updated to ICS and I have performed several F. Resets since then. I think it is software related. For example if I run with another launcher like GO or Apex the issues are much more noticable. Stock launcher is the best but still - it misses my touch more than often...

It ridiculous - it's supposed to be a top notch phone ffs. Has anyone tried a different ROM that just works?

Yes looks interesting. Only thing is that it is ICS and this issue might be ICS related and not Samsung. Thus, I got my eye out for CM7, but...hmm...
