Apologies if you felt insulted by my reply.
It was offered as a supporting view to Alison's, based upon the information you provided and a search of the TMobile forum's for evidence of a TMobile update.
Have you found an answer to your own question?

thank you, didnt mean to come across as sensitive, i havent found an answer yet. Have posted on tmobile forum but no response from there. My earlier posting that quoted two postings on samsungs facebook page does seem to suggest that others have had same update with no change to version number. I do think the update was possibly LPC to LPD but cannot find anything that tells if this is a minor update or a major one. Will see if anything else comes up. And thanks again, i do love forums and the help that you get from them.
I like a mystery.
Will also come back if something comes my way.
There was some sort of update the other day but not sure what it was. I'm on Orange. Kies did an update a few days ago and then the phone had an update on Friday or Saturday whenever I plugged it in. Still on 4.0.3. version.
Don't worry mate your not going mad![]()
haha cheers Adam, wish i had paid more attention to the screen showing current version and latest version but hey, no big deal. Thanks again.
Hi folks
Read this thread just after I accessed and updated Kies this evening and saw the offer of the upgrade for new firmware as Doc1964. First did the update of Kies as offered before the firmware upgrade. I saw the following:
Current firmware PDA:LP9/PHONE:LP9/CSC:LP9 (PTR)
Latest firmware PDA:LPC/PHONE:LPC/CSC:LPD (PTR)
I upgraded my s2 to ICS a while ago. As Doc1964 asked: What is this? It is definitely not a Kies update because I did that two minutes before. I am sure that we are not the only two that have seen this? Bubblehead, did you see what I have just described? Alison (hazi1964) did you? I am amazed and perplexed that none of you folks can come up with a definite answer. As I have agreed not to use foul language on this forum I shall refrain from doing so, but be rest asured that I have a few choice words just short of being the shortest lived forum member.
So folks, please enlighten me. What is it? Is it the latest version of ICS? Since, as you can imagine, I am not a fundi at this and it appears nor is Doc 1964. But, I shall leave that up to Doc.
Hope you are not offended by my straightforwardness. You should not be.
Thanks
Brian
