    Did i just update

Hi there, i updated my S2 to 4.03 in April with ther official Tmobile UK update via Kies.
I have read on a few sites recently about 4.04 being out and that it makes further improvements. Well yesterday i connected my phone to Kies and was informed there was an update due so i went throught he whole update process and when complete it shows my phone as still being on 4.03.
At the end of the update my phone had all my apps, contacts, pics, everything still on phone. I did not have to reinstall anything. Kies now shows that i have latest firmware but i can see no difference.
    Kies reports firmware as PDA:LPD / Phone:LPB / CSC:LPD (TMU)
Anyone had anything similar and bottom line is did i get an update or not.
    Thanks for any help.

Are you sure it wasn't just an update for Kies software?

    HI,
Definite. Kies updated a couple of days ago. This was a full update, wouldnt allow me to do so at first till battery fully charged, then went through same process as recent ICS update. Wee android guy on phone screen at end. I can only guess it was some small changes being made.

If you were on 4.0.3 and are now on 4.0.3 then clearly no update.
Agree wirh Alison, that the update was to Kies.

The update to 4.0.4 hasn't been rolled out yet. It was reported last week that the update was coming but no dates were given.

Ouch Greenman, bad reply. I have had more phones than i can care to remember and have updated them regularly. I have had a galaxy s and an S2 for several years now and updated them all along the way. I have had all of the regular kies updates and this was not a Kies update. I will wait to see if perhaps someone else on Tmobile UK has had a similar experience. The screen also showed the details of current Rom and latest rom, wish now i had kept note but wonder if it was perhaps CSC/ LPC to CSC/ LPD

Thanks Richardj, it was your original post that had me watch out for an update as i didnt expect any new ones so soon.
Did some further searching and found the following posts on a samsung facebook page, no answer but seems similar.
"i upgraded it succesfully to 4.0.4 over kies...but in the settings that´s still 4.03? ..why is that so??
    10 July at 14:01"
" been upgrade via kies (uk) on my samsung galaxy SII but still the same Android 4.0.3 (nothing is 4.0.4 yet ?)
    10 July at 05:26"

Have you tried the TMobile forum to see if anyone else has had this problem or may be speak to TMobile and see if they can shed any light on what's going on. My original post refers to unbranded/sim free phones and not phones supplied from any of the networks.

I see nothing bad about greenmans reply. Its strange the problem you have encountered but the phone obviously hasn't been updated and the 4.04 hasn't actually been rolled out as yet as Richarj said.

    Hi Alison,
my reply was aimed at the comment that stated the update i received was to kies. The thing with forums is you never know the level of competence of the person you are replying to. I have posted replies on many forums for years helping with issues with computers and phones and i always have this in mind when replying. I just found it a bit insulting to be so dismissive and state it was an update to kies when it most definitely was not. Anyway, i would not want it to turn into a bun fight as i appreciate the help that is offered on forums. Hope you are having a nice weekend.
