    Charging Problem

    Hi All,

I wanted to buy a galaxy s II from a friend of mine. He bought it in the U.S and it was brand new but when I've tried to charge it the charging icon were blinking on and off.
Important info is that he didn't use the devices for at least a month so the battery was empty.
When I plugged another (charged) battery the device booted but as soon as I connected the charger the system would crash and showed me the same blinking charging icon scenario. I've tried several charges and through USB & directly to the wall outlet so I think I denied any charger problem.

The weird thing is that now, when we charged it for the entire night the device seems to work (although it didn't charge with a replacement battery as I mentioned above).
Is there another part besides the external battery the needs to be charged in that case?

    Thanks in advance

It may be the calibration chip that is in need of resetting. Charge phone fully turned off, then use phone until battery is empty and turns off, then recharge fully again with phone off. This should reset the chip.
