I'm new to the forum, so apologies if this is something that's been discussed, I couldn't find anything relating to this issue though.

Basically, my problem stemmed from what I believe to be a common issue where the little metal 'tongue' in the charger port is causing a short in some way and making the phone go haywire. I'd had this issue before a few times and by gently lifting the 'tongue' and/or cleaning the port with a toothbrush I'd sorted it, no ill effects.

This time, however, I thought everything was fine, but the charger won't connect properly and instead pops up with the notification of 'USB connector connected' and isn't imparting any charge.

Has anyone had this issue before? Know what can be done?

Many thanks in advance

Nick
