    how change message ringtone

    i want to load a music clip for my text message alert but dont know how - if you go to the music player and click on the piece of music i want and then press menu it gives you options to set as phone voice call ringtone, video call ringtone, caller ringtone and alarm tone but not message ringtone ? any suggestions ?

    make a folder on the root of the internal sd card and call it notifications and put the sound or mp3 in the folder then go to cahnge notifications tone and you will see it in the list of tones

    Create it as follows: /sdcard/media/audio/notifications. Place your music tones there. That will work. When you go to the text message settings you will find your musictone over there... Maybe a restart of your phone will also help if you can't find it in this folder.
    Also for ringtones you create /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones and for alarms you create ...audio/alams
    my firmware version: XXJF3 (old) and now XXJPP

    but i haven't got an sd card, just an 8gb built in memory ?

    Sdcard stands for your phone memory, abit confusing really . Also using a ringtone maker app lets you use the part of the song/noise you want.
    I've used this and works ok ringtone mp3

    Applications > My Files > Menu button > Create folder
