Do you think if i did do a factory reset it would fix the problem, or do you reckon its a hardware problem? Also if i do a factory reset and restore after a backup will it wipe my home screen and the way i have it setup? Thanks so much for your time and help

I've never used the backup and restore function so I can't comment first hand but others have said it works well. If you have only had the problem since updating then I would suggest a factory reset, if it's always been a problem I would suggest a hardware issue. But, please do make sure you have the correct S2 headphones and try iPhone ones too.

If it were my phone I would carry out a factory reset as you've tried almost everything else.
In ICS the Back up & Reset function (to Google servers) works very well and restores your apps, and for me it returns the phone to as it was - but then my contacts and calendar are also synced via Gmail, so not knowing your set up I cannot say 100% that all will be restored.

Thanks guys for your help. I recalibrated my battery yesterday, and so far so good, the battery is holding its charge way better. Been using for an hour or so and its still at 98% which is a massive improvement. When backing up to the google servers, does it back up pics, documents, vids, music, etc... or will i have to use Kies for that. I am seriously thinking about doing a factory reset as i hate it when there is a problem with my electronics! I just dont want to do it and for it not to work, then i know it maybe an expensive repair, its not as if i use my handsfree very often. Thanks again for all your time and help, very much appreciated.
