Thread: Trnsfer DVD Movie to Samsung Galaxy S

If you're 'transfering ' to an .avi you'll increase it's file size, and it must have taken you ages!

With picture files it's analogous to bitmap (avi) and jpg (mpeg) . Not that most folk deal mith bitmaps these days...

DVD format video is mpeg-2 and much more compressed than an .avi format.

As said above, xilisoft is OK. As for Kies I don't know.

Good luck with it, and have something else to do while it rips, 'cos it takes a while.

Propably it does, but I cannot imagine it ripping dvd, what they usualy do is closer to resizing.

ripping is a problem as it isnt really going to the rule book, but saying that the internet is known as the world wide web for a reason, there will be loads of software out there

i have not used xilisoft before, but if you would try ripping the dvd to avi format and encoding it with the xvid codec, it would help especially size wise.

I find Nero works for pretty much all my ripping / encoding / burning needs a lot of people slate it but I just found it works well for me. There are loads of torrents available for it ;-)

This is my first time to get so high tech - Samsung Galaxy s i9000 which is reallly perfect phone but I also have the same problem with you.
Galaxy S supported video formats: MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, WMV, AVI, 3GP. The way I resolve this problem is decoding my video to formats that my phone supports.

Via google, I find Aunsoft Video Converter which is powerful in converting various video formts to Samsung Galaxy s video format listed above .
I believe It will help you out.
