    Kies connection probems

I have a galaxy gt-i9000 on orange tarrif, I used to be able to connect to Kies easily, however, now it doesnt register the connection.
I have reinstalled the software on my pc, tried the troubleshooting tool, checked the settings on my phone and all seems ok.

When I plug in the usb to the phone, it bleeps and registers the charging icon, but thats it?

    Any suggestions??

I had a similar thing happen to me. I always used one USB port and then decided to use another one which caused me problems.

First thing to check is that the phone is in Kies mode.

Do you get an a speech bubble come up in the bottom left of your screen saying 'USB Device Not Recognized'?

Mine started to work again after trying about twenty times.

cheers for the update, forgot to say, tried it on 2 different pc's (desktop & laptop), unsuccessful on both of them, tried re-connecting several times, still no success.
    No speech bubble either?
I also have an issue with the phone itself, keeps turning itself off, or if it receives the slightest tap or dunt it does the same. It suffers from screen freezing as well.
Do you think the issue could relate to the actual phone?
    Very frustrating.....

Phone clearly has issues so I suggest you send it in for repair.
