I noticed the bit about the camera and the 11 wands but not the option for AllShare cast in the menu...at least not the first time, seems to be there now though

Still, at least people now know where to find the new option for AllShare Cast.

Edit Swear they the general look of the camera app has changed, otherwise I have no reason to continue disliking it all of a sudden.

The firmware for the camera has been updated but I've read on xda the a there's 2 types of cameras been fitted ones metal sided and ones plastic the metal ones better

I have just been updated to 4.04 via Kies. It gave me version XXLF2 which does not seem to have many of the updates listed in the changelog for XXFFB.
I am on Optus in Australia. What gives?
I was particularly looking forward to being able to use Swype in more places.

Have you signed up to Swype Beta? Swype is not on SGS3 but Samsung have their own version called 'Continous Swipe'.

If you sign up to Swype beta on the internet you should be able to install along side the Samsung version.

Lol, welcome to Samsung. At least they allow you to muck about with the phone easier then some other manufacturers.

Looking on sammobile alf2 appears to be the most recent firmware for Optus.

Thanks stonkr. I guess the question is whether to bother to get a different version. Given that Swype beta seems to work well on my phone (thanks again Tufftoad), do I need to?
