    many thanks for all your replies! i think the problem was with the CSC file.. but i have found some other CSC files to flash with and now all is good!
    any idea how to separate the PDA/PHONE/CSC files if my Asian f/w bundles the whole package as a single .tar file?

    it bundles it up as just one? i havent seen that before.. are you sure your asian firmware isnt just providing a CODE.tar file? how do you how it includes the CSC in it?

    (Scratching my head) After flashing to new firmware, I didn't lose a single app... Is it normal? Shouldn't they disappear? The only things I lost were phonebook, sms and some settings.

    @DirtySoul - How did you overcome the analysing file issue you were having yesterday? I get exactly the same issue when trying to flash JG3

    Sincerely, I tried about 20-30 times, and eventually it did flash... Taking off the battery, restarting the phone in download mode, restarting Odin, changing USB ports... I don't know exactly what made it work

    does Odin work on windows vista?! cause I followed every step (even installed the necessary drives) but Odin won't recognize the phone (i'm sitting in download mode for 30 minutes now)

    EDIT: It randomly worked lol finally I can have android market yay!! (didn't have the market on my original firmware imagine that!!)...thnx guys for the potential help I would've get from

    Yeah I tried it many times too, plugged in and unplugged the USB cable several times... Ended up rebooting my computer and my phone and when I tried again it did find the phone on COM 8

    you got it to work on Vista? i thought it only worked on Windows 7 64bit
