Bought a stolen S2, not bricked.

I definitely need to avoid that situation, I dont want to throw my $225 out the window. Can anyone suggest how I can get it disconnected? Then I suppose I'll have to figure out how to root it/ change the imei #. From what I read, a phone thats been bricked by the carrier can't be fixed so I need to do this asap. If anyone has seen a similar thread or can shed some light I'd really appreciate it!

I don't think it's legal to clone an IMEI number (although it may be possible).... I'd suggest you have a search through the XDA Developers site as they are more into the "hardcore" developement and have some amazingly techy guys on there.
