That's the one I dowloaded and I was folllowing his video tutorial. He also does not show any of the extracted files that you mentioned.
greenman is suggesting you try right clicking on the Odin icon and selecting properties then compatibility mode and choosing "XP SP3"

If you still want to root, would you like a walk through of the method RichH and I prefer?
If so, do you know how to copy a file from your computer to the phone? (just saves a long description if you do)![]()
yes, that would be great!!! I know how to copy from my computer to my phone if you just tell me which exact file and where exactly to copy it on the phone.
How to Root your S2
Note file names have been shortened via Google.
1. Download to your computer this file: http://goo.gl/3vFK9
2. Download to your computer this file: http://goo.gl/lb2Mo
3. Connect phone by usb to computer and copy files in 1 & 2 to 'card' - make sure you do not put them in any folder.
4. Reboot phone into Recovery Mode (Press and hold Volume up + Home button + Power button until in Green android and blue writing of Recovery Screen)
5. Use volume button to choose 'apply update from external storage' and press power button to action.
6. Use volume to select 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-galaxyS2.zip' and power button to action.
7. The screen is now in ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.1.5 (this is referred to as CWM) and you can now touch the screen to select.
8. Select and touch 'install zip from sd card'
9. Select and touch 'choose zip from sd card'
10. Look for 'SU-Busybox-Installer.zip' if you can't find it ****Go Back**** and 'choose zip from internal sd card'
11. Select and touch.
12. ****Go Back**** to 'reboot system now.
13. That's it you are rooted - to check, look in your applications and you should now have 'Super User'

There is one step I am not clear about: Step 10 (btw I had to use 'choose zip from internal sd card')
Once I touch 'SU-Busybox-Installer.zip' do I confirm Install or just ****Go Back**** and reboot system?
If it asks to confirm then say yes - sorry forgot that![]()
