ok downloaded firmware, is it just the tar file i use in odin? or does there need to be pit and bootloader?
i am really confused what pit file i use?
i d//loaded firm but cant see modem pda or csc in there
am i missing something? last time i did this was on mt sgs1

oops! i think i might of goofed it! i clicked repartion and put pit file in as the guide says on samfirmware but i just looked on a how to guide and it says do not repartition!! and do not use pit what will happen if i did? also i put same file in pda phone and csc??? have i ballsed it?
Hope you haven't goofed it.
The downloaded and unzipped file is made up of the 3 files you need, and you should have only put it in the PDA box.
Do not do anything else,except connect your phone in download mode by the usb.
Make sure you get the yellow box and you're ready to start.

well its safe to say the phone is broke! not from my goof up though as i did the reflash and the phone does exactly the same as the fault it started with, i did manage to reinstall software but still it would not boot up! so i thing it may be hardware fault possibly?? hope this is not going to become a common problem! i suppose time will tell.

ok got new phone and all was great UNTILL!!! it started again!!, However i think i found out what the issue is. i have a gel case on the handset and when you press the power button there is no feeling so i think ive been pressing too hard, anyway it seems like the power button gets stuck if you push the top half of the button and get lodged under the case. so if you get anyone with this problem then get them to check this as i just had to use a pin to gently tease out the button.
Cut out the bit of gel case covering the power button.
