Question Wifi connecting but internet not working...

Hi guys, I bought the Samsung S2 GT-I9100 a couple of days ago for my birthday. Everything is working perfectly, including 3G internet.

However, there is a problem with my WIFI. It connects to the network, but nothing loads on the internet browser, or on any other app that uses the internet. I've tried a few different networks and have had the same problem.

I'm running 4.0.3 and have searched the forum and the internet, but havent been able to find a solution. Any ideas guys? Anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Did you search for your wifi and put in the correct password?
Try turning router off and leave a couple of minutes before turning back on.
Have you other bits of gear attached to your router?
If so, try turning off before reconnecting phone.

You could also check your hotspots configuration is set to the same as on the PC.

There are options for open connection, WPA PSK AND WPA2 PSK. Make sure both are set up the same.

Did you search for your wifi and put in the correct password? - Yes.
Try turning router off and leave a couple of minutes before turning back on. - Did that as well.
Have you other bits of gear attached to your router? Nope.

Alison, I've tried other networks as well, which had the same result - connected, but no internet. So I guess its not a config problem. In case it is, how do I check on my PC and on my phone?

Having re read your first message, you mention trying to connect to other networks.
    Are these hotspots like McDonalds?
Providing you register these should connect ok.
It's suggesting a software problem, so try a factory reset and clear cache in recovery.

BTW While you're at it why not install the 4.0.4 update.
    See my message.

Don't try the Open Europe 4.0.4 as it has problems.
The Russian 4.0.4 can be flashed via Odin to your phone, otherwise be patient and wait for an Odin update.
My initial use of 4.0.4 in the UK showed a heavier battery usage and slow GPS lock.
Generally, not worth updating if your current ICS is OK.

Are you on the latest pdanet?

Flashing from ICS 4.03 to 4.04 should not end up in losing data, but select Back up and Reset in Settings an for good measure backup with Kies (if you can)
You do not need root to flash with Odin.
Don't know if there are any kies updates for India - try it and see.
