date and time stamp on received SMS

Can anybody explain to me why the dates and times I see on text messages are stamped with current time (i.e. time that message is downloaded/read) rather than the time actually sent....? Can't see the point in this.

Since there is (usually) only a short time difference between sending and receiving, then this seems like a small problem. But sure there's a workaround in the Play store.

This is a pretty well known bug on a lot of firmware versions, and it seems to be pot luck whether it affects you or not.

There is a fix you can try : LINK HERE but if that doesn't work I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the next firmware update.

Alternatively, you could try a different messaging app, but historically if you got the bug with the stock app, you'd also have it with any 3rd party apps.

Try the fix anyway, you have nothing to lose
