Add button now greyed out?

Hi, unrooted, on ICS, just tried to add a shortcut to one of my screens (it had/has room) and the add button will not work (greyed out) the shortcut i tried to add has not appeared, the button was working but stopped during the shortcut add......? any ldeas peeps?

Try a reboot or factory reset.

Re boot no effect, dont want to FR unless I have to..... any other poss cures?

OK. should have asked if you're on the stock launcher.
Just for clarification, is it the one app you can't add to a home page or any app now?
If just the one app have a look at the app in Settings > Applications > and find the app and clear data, then restart the app again.
Now see if you can move it.
